How To Place Your Windows Vista Computer Into Sleep Mode

By using the Sleep Mode, you can place your computer into a power saving state where the current state of your applications and files will be preserved. After waking the computer, your previous session is restored to exactly as it was. This feature can come in handy for notebook users while traveling or anyone who otherwise needs quick and frequent access to their applications and files.


To Place Your Windows Vista Computer Into Sleep Mode

  1. Click the Start button located in the lower-left corner of the Windows Vista desktop.
  2. Then click the arrow in the lower-right corner of the Start menu as shown below.

    Click On The Right Arrow To Access The Sleep Option.


  3. Then click on Sleep.
  4. Windows Vista will then place your computer into Sleep Mode.
  5. Note: If your computer loses AC or battery power while in Sleep Mode, it may lose data.
  6. To Wake the computer from Sleep Mode, press the power button on the computer.
