Sound Card - Definition

A Sound Card is an expansion board that allows sound to playback and record. A sound card can accommodate all types of files such as MIDI or WAV, in addition to music played by CD-Rom or DVD-Rom. While there are a number of sound cards on the market, SoundBlaster is one of the most common.
