OSI (Open Systems Interconnect) - Definition

OSI is short for Open Systems Interconnect. It is an international standard suite of protocols defined by International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that implements the OSI reference model for network communications between computers. The OSI Reference Model is a set of seven layers that defines the different stages that data must go through to travel from one device to another over a network.
