IRF Tax - Definition

In the Google AdWords program, The IRF Tax is a federal withholding tax required for corporate advertisers in Brazil. If you are a corporate advertiser in Brazil making payments by Brazilian Reais, Brazilian regulations (Law No. 7.450 of 1985 (Art. 53) amended by Law No. 9.064 (Art. 6)) mandate that you pay 1.5% IRF tax of on any gross payments greater than R$666.66. As of October 1, 2007, Google withholds IRF from your AdWords payments and pays this tax for you in accordance with Normative Instruction 123/92 Article 3.
