Database - Definition

A Database is simply a collection of data, which would consist of various types of information such as customer information, product description and code, part numbers, delivery dates, and so on. A computer database has the ability to manipulate that data and it is possible to attach applications to that database to search the contents. Typically, the term Database is used in connection with data being managed and maintained within a computer. Databases can even store data such as pictures, sound clips and videos.
