The Sidebar is a new feature of Windows Vista™ that resides on an area of your desktop where you can store small programs, called gadgets, to quickly access information. Follow the steps below to close the Sidebar. Note: Closing the Sidebar won't close detached gadgets that are stored on your desktop.
To Shut Down The Windows Vista Sidebar
- Click the Start button located in the lower-left corner of the Windows Vista desktop.
- Then click All Programs.
- Now click on the Accessories folder.
- Then click on Windows Sidebar.
- Windows Vista will then Close the Windows Sidebar.
Note: After closing the Windows Sidebar, it minimizes itself to the taskbar. To quickly open it again, right click on the Sidebar icon in the notification area of the taskbar, and then click on Open.
